Mission Statement

Description

CrossLink International is a non-profit 501(c) (3), non-denominational organization providing free humanitarian aid in the form of medicines, medical and surgical supplies/equipment and eyeglasses to persons in need through free clinics, mission hospitals, medical mission teams, Christian ministries and other humanitarian aid organizations around the world. CrossLink "links" locates medical supply companies, pharmaceutical firms, hospitals, private and group medical practices, and individuals with surplus medicines, medical supplies/equipment they are willing to donate and then provides for the acquisition and inventory of these materials. We then match these resources with the needs of others around the world through our requests from churches, missionaries, medical mission teams, denominational groups, and other humanitarian aid organizations. Finally, we arrange for packing, customs clearances and delivery of these needed materials. The Virginia Board of Pharmacy licenses CrossLink International as a warehouser/distributor of proprietary medicines. We follow strict procedures to assure that the receiving organization and/or medical professional is accountable and capable of using the medicines and supplies in the manner intended. We comply with all manufacturer and government warnings and restrictions on the handling, storage, shipment, distribution and use of these materials. We do not accept nor do we distribute narcotics. Neither do we send medicines or medical supplies that are unsuitable, badly labeled or near an expiration date. And, we ensure that our donated goods respect the wishes of receiving countries, agencies and medical professionals. We also partner with The Northern Virginia Lions (International) Eyeglass Recycling Center (located in the CrossLink facilities) in refurbishing used eye glasses which are distributed free of charge to people in other countries who are otherwise unable to acquire them. In addition, we partner with other organizations such as Prison Fellowship International; Christian Medical Dental Society; International Mission Board; Cooperative Baptist Fellowship; Baptist World Aid; Medical Dental Fellowship; and many others. CrossLink is governed by a volunteer board; administered by a professional staff; dependent on faithful volunteers; and, always seeking gifts of time, finances, materials and in-kind services. We welcome volunteers from all churches, community service organizations, schools and age groups. And, of course, donated goods and/or financial contributions are tax deductible. CrossLink grew out of a relationship between Columbia Baptist Church and Moscow Central Baptist Church in 1993. Since then the ministry has grown dramatically and now has distributed goods valued at nearly $17 million to 77 different countries.
