Mission Statement

The mission of the Outdoor Lab is to compliment the education, public service (outreach) and research mission of Clemson University. The Outdoor Lab shall serve Clemson University, its constituent civic organizations, campers, parents/caregivers, regional businesses and the community in conducting programs to enhance and improve the well-being of all users and represent Clemson University in a positive manner.

Description

The Outdoor Lab is a residential camp and conference center. The camps are run to benefit children and adults with a variety of disabilities. Through a variety of summer camps, we work with: children and adults with cognitive disabilities; children and teenagers who are speech or hearing imparied; childrena and teenagers who are economically disadvantaged; children, teenagers and young adults who are blind or visually impaired. We have been serving SC citizens and those form other states for over 40 years by offering organized, chalneging and fun outdoor porgrams. We have weekend respite camps for parents who care for disbaled children in their homes. We also have residential camps for active older adults. Our facility, which can accomodate up to 200 persons is located in the Clemson forest on the shores of Lake Hartwell.
