Mission Statement

It is Artscope's mission to provide a safe and educational environment for children to explore the Arts and to strengthen the ties within the St. Louis community.

Description

Since 2002, Artscope (formerly SCOSAG) has provided thousands of hours of hands-on artistic education in the form of curriculum based classes, summer, winter, and spring break camps for children K-9th, and community events at its historic building in Tower Grove Park.

Artscope is located in a nationally recognized landmark, The South Gate Lodge of Tower Grove Park. Built in 1888, this cozy "cottage castle" has seen 118 years of history pass through its doors. In the past, it has been living quarters for grounds keepers. More recently, for twenty-five years, it was the park office; and for the past 9 years it has been home to many young artists and their mentors. The South Gate Lodge offers countless discoveries as visitors peruse its interior and exterior decorative architecture and antique fixtures.

The staff was very friendly and all the families that I encountered were very nice. I had such a great time!
