"To motivate and inspire youth of Boyle Heights to develop as leaders in the pursuit of education. We strive to empower youth to ensure growth in our community through involvement and social awareness. Additionally, we hope to assist parents so that they may foster healthy families for a better tomorrow."

Description

IMPACTO is part of Proyecto Pastoral, an organization established in the predominantly Latino, low-income area of Boyle Heights. IMPACTO is the after-school program component, offering assistance at two different sites for grades K-12. We offer homework assistance and tutoring to our youth, as well as enrichment activities like art club, guitar lessons, track team, book club, story time, and many other extracurricular options. Additionally, we offer field trips at least once a semester and during our summer program. Parents and families are incorporated into our program as well, with parent meetings and workshops on topics such as local resources, ways to be economically aware, and nutritional choices for feeding a family.
