Mission Statement

Hopewell Troop 8 is a part of the Boy Scouts of America organization (BSA) sponsered by Hopewewll United Methodist Church (HUMC). "The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law".

Description

Hopewell Troop 8 has been sponsored by Hopewell United Methodist Church since 1943. It is a scout-led troop aided and abetted by adults. The troop is now entering its 64th year of existence. Troop 8 originally met in the basement of Hopewell UMC. The meeting place changed to the current Scout House in the top floor of the McCausland Building prior to 1979 (from the basement to the attic). See our Web site for additional information.
