Mission Statement

Mama Hope funds and advocates for community organizations in the developing world struggling to meet basic needs for food, water, and health care. We foster grassroots fundraising in the developed world in support of cost effective, locally identified, and self-sustaining projects.

Organizing Principles

Responsibility
Mama Hope believes local communities have the ability and will to solve their problems, but lack the resources to do so. We provide funding, technical assistance, and support to help them achieve their goals with dignity and respect.

Accountability
We are committed to ensuring that programs funded are cost effective, sustainable, and transparent to our stakeholders. Likewise, we must be held accountable for our performance by the communities we serve.

Interdependence.
MH is devoted to fostering grassroots fundraising, especially among the youth, to create communities of giving who can see the cumulative effect their collective action will have on progress and human dignity across the globe

Holistic Approach
We understand that just as the causes and effects of poverty in the developing world are diverse, so must the solutions be integrative, varied, and community oriented.
