Mission Statement

Holistic Health Care is committed to providing compassionate and accessible care to individuals living with serious or life-limiting illnesses. We place special emphasis on promoting care that is respectful to an individual's worth and dignity. This care is overseen by caring and skilled professionals who manage the medical, spiritual and social needs for patients and family. We also achieve this by helping to remove the patient's fear of burden on caregivers, friends and family.

Description

Holistic Health Care is a full-service hospice serving patients in Birmingham and surrounding areas. With skilled help from Holistic Health Care, patients and their loved ones are able to peacefully receive a health professional that will make regular visits to assess the patient and provide additional care or other services.

The Holistic Care Team helps the patient and the patient's family member's deal with their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs, such as:

  • Manages the patient's pain and symptoms, including inpatient care if needed
  • Assists the patient and family with the emotional, psychosocial and spiritual aspects of dying
  • Provides needed drugs, medical supplies, and equipment
  • Coaches the family on how to care for the patient
  • Delivers special services like speech and physical therapy when needed
  • Provides inpatient respite care
  • Provides 13 months of bereavement care and counseling to surviving family and friends
