Elks Aidmore Children's Center

Elks Aidmore Children Center provides a home and services for 32 teenage girls who are unable to live at home due to circumstances beyond their control. On average the girls that come to Elks Aidmore have been in at least eight different placements before arriving here. Recently one girl that came to Elks Aidmore had been in 38 different placements. That is more than my entire family ever moved combined. Our girls face many challenges. Adults, society, and culture have all let them down time and time again. Most of the girls are behind in education. They have either not been in school on a regular basis, or have moved so many times, that building a solid educational foundation has been impossible. What do they have going for them? They are great. They are smart, funny and resilient. I have worked at Elks Aidmore for thirteen years and have truly admired and loved each girls that has walked through our doors.
