Mission Statement

As an academic medical center where the patient comes first, Northwestern Memorial Hospital's mission is to improve the health of the communities we serve by delivering a broad range of services with sensitivity to the individual needs of our patients and their families. We are an organization of caregivers who work together to achieve our mission by consistently meeting the highest standards of quality, cost-effectiveness and patient satisfaction.

We are bonded in an essential academic and service relationship with the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University. We strive continuously to enhance the quality of our services by integrating them with education and research in an environment that encourages excellence of practice, critical inquiry and learning.

Description

Northwestern Memorial Hospital Palliative Care and Home Hospice Program strives to provide the best patient and family experience by enhancing the dignity and quality of life of those facing life-limiting illnesses. We aim to achieve this by addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual suffering of patients and families through an interdisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, chaplains, home health aides, massage and art therapists, and volunteers. Our program services the entire Cook County area.
