Description
Virginia Beach has the largest volunteer-based EMS system in the nation. Its ten volunteer rescue squads responded to a combined total of over 40,000 calls for assistance in 2015. Davis Corner Volunteer Rescue Squad is one of ten volunteer rescue squads in Virginia Beach.
Originally organized in 1943 as a volunteer fire department we are chartered in the Commonwealth of Virginia as Davis Corner Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc. We no longer have volunteer firefighters and are generally referred to as Davis Corner Rescue Squad or Rescue 2. Serving primarily the Town Center, Haygood, Aragona, Lake Smith, Thoroughgood, and Wesleyan areas of Virginia Beach our ambulances respond to calls throughout the largest city in Virginia.
Our members come from all walks of life. EMT training is provided FREE by the City of Virginia Beach. Come change your life - BE AN EVERY DAY HERO!
