Description
Skills For Living currently offers one program in Austin, the Game of Real Life for at-risk high school students attending KIPP Austin.
The Game is a comprehensive 70-hour financial, career and college planning curriculum with a 16-hour experiential, reality simulation game.
In the Game, Austin area businesses interview, train and manage students as they "age" from 19 to 26 in one hour intervals, while working, paying bills, buying homes, cars and insurance and manage life events, such as marriage, tax audits and being laid-off.
Students play on teams and the teams with the highest aggregate net worth and highest incomes win!
The Game starts in May 2009.
