Blossom Montessori School for the Deaf

Blossom Montessori School for the Deaf is the only deaf Montessori school in Florida, and one of only 2 in the United States. We were founded in 2003 to provide an innovative and exciting academic environment for children ages 3 through15 who are deaf or hard of hearing. Unlike other traditional deaf programs, Blossom also enrolls children who are hearing and have deaf siblings and/or deaf parents. Class size is small (6 - 8 children per room) and communication is 1:1 and is geared to the preference of each child - from American Sign Language (ASL) to spoken English, each child is taught in a language that best fits his or her learning style.

As Tampa Bay has the fourth largest concentration of deaf and hard of hearing population in the United States, Blossom is important to the Tampa Bay region and ultimately as a model nationally for educating the deaf and hard of hearing. We serve students not only from Pinellas County, but Hillsborough, Hernando, Pasco and Manatee counties as well.
