Mission Statement

The mission of Montana Youth Homes is to enhance the quality of life by expanding opportunities for our youth in a secure, family environment. We wish to empower, encourage, and support our youth in change in order to become effective, contributing adults.

Description

Montana Youth Homes was established as a non-profit organization in 1974 and as of July 2008 operates under Rocky Mountain Development Council. The program provides care, safety and support to youth in our community who need help and support in hard times.

Montana Youth Homes serves over 250 youth per year. Many youth come to MYH as victims of situations beyond their control. MYH helps youth who are physically or sexually abused, unwanted, runaways, depressed, chemically dependent, or emotionally troubled.

Although the needs of each resident are unique, all the youth we serve have two things in common; they need help and they need to know that someone cares.

MYH oversees the Margaret Stewart and Jan Shaw Group Homes as well as providing youth holdover, runaway and emergency counseling services. Through these programs MYH supports youth ages 12-18 as they successfully navigate their way toward adulthood.
