Mission Statement

Improving access to healthy food for Detroit students.

Description

Operated through the Office of School Nutrition, the Detroit School Garden Collaborative runs a 2 acre food production farm that provides fresh produce for school cafterias. In 2015 we grew over 20,000 pounds of food. Additionally we have 82 active school gardens with trained teachers and a standards approved school garden curriculum. We have also recently gained the opportunity to restore Catherine Ferguson, a 2 acre school farm site in Detrot.
