Mission Statement

The Great Barrington Housatonic River Walk is the first public river greenway installed on the Housatonic River in Berkshire County and has become a model for numerous towns along Massachusetts rivers. River Walk is a project of the Great Barrington Land Conservancy.

Description

Beyond transforming a blighted riverbank into a town park and greenway trail, this hands-on stewardship program in practical ecology has engaged 2000 young students and adult volunteers led by qualified professionals in clean-up, restoration, landscaping and trail-making activities.
