Mission Statement

Our mission is to establish sustainable, organic, volunteer-run gardens across the country and around the globe to raise money for humanitarian relief efforts. We promote healthy lifestyles, service, youth activism and awareness.

Description

Our model is that every penny we get for our tomatoes, fruits and vegetables goes directly towards humanitarian trauma relief. We've selected IAHV (The International Association for Human Values) as our recipient due to their scientifically proven techniques for alleviating trauma associated symptoms. Recently, IAHV was named the official post traumatic stress disorder organization by the New Orleans city council in the wake of Hurricane Katrina (where BGF's money has gone in 2006-2007) and for Hurricane Ike in 2008.
