Mission Statement

HeartWorks is a non-profit in Pamlico County whose mission is to address health disparities for youth in Pamlico County and surrounding rural communities.

Description

HeartWorks' mission is to address the problems and issues that result in dysfunctional behavior in the youth in our community. We strive to help our children and their families overcome these mental and physical issues by developing resources IN OUR COMMUNITY that are affordable, available, and effective. Our goal is to help create a community that has truly become the "shelter of each other". Our current programs include two afterschool programs (elementary and middle school), mental health counseling, summer programs, Family Fun Days and two food donation programs. Upcoming programs include mentoring, service learning opportunities and a community garden.
