Sunshine Home Share Colorado (Sunshine) is a program developed to assist seniors in their ability to age in place by increasing their network of support. Through community collaborations and partnerships, we increase community access to affordable housing by utilizing existing housing stock and provide our clients with information about, and referrals to other community organizations providing supportive services.
Seniors with extra space and empty rooms rent to individuals needing a place to live. By creating a mutually beneficial living situation both parties benefit from cohabitating. Senior Home Providers price the rent in accordance with the hours of additional services or companionship provided by the home seeker. You trade human capital for assistance around the house, transportation, or other chores which are fundamental to maintaining independence in ageing.
