Description
One of the primary goals of the American Cancer Society is to provide the most accurate, up- to- date information on cancer. Our current information resources and programs are offered free of charge to cancer patients and their families. ACS is the largest source of private, not-for-profit cancer research funds in the United States, second only to the federal government in total dollars spent. Our research program has funded many lifesaving cancer treatments and has extended thousands of lives each year. ACS community cancer control encompasses activities at the local, state, regional, or national level which have a positive impact on the entire spectrum of prevention, early detection, effective treatment, survival, and quality of life related to cancer.
