Our volunteers go into our patient's home and care facilities and provide exceptional companion care. This can be something as simple as watching a favorite movie or TV show, or reading a book or just simply conversating with the patient and their loved ones. Everyone comes into this world with love and people all around them. Here at ALC Palliative and Hospice Care we have volunteer opportunities for people who want to be a sense of comfort to people in their final hours of their life. Not only would the volunteer provide comfort to the patient, but also would provide comfort to friends, family and loved ones that are there as well. Something as simple as just being present is helpful.

ALC Palliative and Hospice Care is a compassionate hospice company with heart. We truly care for our patients. To help us do that we rely on volunteers. Volunteers would go to where the patient is residing. Our patients reside in nursing homes, assisted livings, memory care facilities, and at home. Our volunteers play an import roll. Our volunteers provide comfort, companionship, conversation, entertainment, and so much more. What ever your desire and whatever your talent we can use your unique help. ALC palliative and hospice care is committed to providing a holistic treatment that encompasses compassion and comfort through physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients and their families during the advanced stages of an illness. An interdisciplinary team delivers care and treatment that is customized to the patient and family needs in order that quality and hope is given throughout one’s life.
Description
ALC Palliative and Hospice is a newly licensed hospice in the state of Illinois. It is a home based program that is a division of ALC home health care. ALC meets the conditions of participation for hospice. A condition for hospice is to have volunteers available to meet with patients and their families that provide companionship, respite for families, reading, sharing stories or memories or running errands. Volunteers are also needed in the office.
