Mission Statement

Hair For You Foundation distributes funds to assist in the purchase of a wig, due to medical hair loss, to children ages 18 years old and younger being treated in the state of Illinois. Our wish is to increase confidence in one's outward appearance and to help provide the inner-confidence needed as they face each day. We hope to improve their overall well-being while experiencing an overwhelming and difficult time in their life.

Description

Our founder, Rebecca, is a two-time teen cancer survivor. While going through chemotherapy Rebecca lost all of her hair twice. Fortunately, Rebecca’s family was able to afford a wig for her. However, Rebecca realized that not all families were as lucky and that in many cases buying a wig for medical hair loss is not covered by insurance companies. She realized the vast difference a wig made in her life while enduring chemotherapy at such a young age.

That is when she decided to start Hair For You Foundation. She wanted others to feel the deeply positive impact she felt when going through something well beyond her 16 years. She wanted others to feel a sense of normalcy when almost nothing was "normal" about their lives.
