Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
- Provide support, education, information and hope to the newly diagnosed and their families. - Educate and inform the general public, medical treatment providers and support networks of lung cancer’s devastating toll on thousands. - Solicit and generate increased funding for lung cancer treatment and cure research to levels commensurate with those of other cancers. - Reduce the stigma associated with lung cancer so that all impacted by the disease are consistently treated with dignity and respect. - Support and create awareness for legislation supporting lung cancer funding and treatment.
At Lung Cancer Connection we provide three key programs:
- Patient Information Bags - We provide critical information to newly diagnosed patients, caregivers and families about lung cancer diagnosis and treatment. Our information bags are made available free of charge at many area hospitals and cancer centers.
- Support & Networking Group- In partnership with the Cancer Support Community of St. Louis, we sponsor a monthly Lung Cancer Networking group. This is the area’s only support group specifically targeted to lung cancer patients and their caregivers.
- Research & Early Screening - We apply a significant portion of our charitable donations to fund lung cancer research, including local hospital research grants, a continuing grant to provide CT screenings for high-risk individuals who cannot afford to pay, as well as seminar/conference scholarships for medical professionals.
