Mission Statement

SDA’s vision is "Through collaboration and awareness, Shakopee is united as a vibrant, diverse, inclusive community." It’s plan includes 3 goals: Host an annual international festival in Shakopee to celebrate the community’s diversity and promote diversity. Build a resource network to inform new and current Shakopee community members about resources available to assist them. Enhance education and cultural awareness opportunities in Shakopee.

Description

The Shakopee Diversity Alliance (SDA) is a community-based organization made up of volunteers with different ethnic backgrounds and faiths. Most of us live in Shakopee while others work or volunteer in Shakopee. The SDA is not connected with the City of Shakopee nor any other organization in Shakopee. Funding for SDA activities and events is raised through its own fundraising efforts as well as donations and sponsorship from local businesses, groups and community members.
