Mission Statement

The Spring Mountain Ranch Docents is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to interpreting the cultural and natural history of the park. The Docents provide staffing services at the visitor center, guided tours to the historic structures, assist the park staff with other tasks as skills permit, and support interpretive programs.

Description

The Docent program began in 1977 with the support of the Junior League of Las Vegas, Nevada and the Red Rock Canyon volunteers. After completing a training course and passing a background check, Docents are required to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours a month at the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park to provide visitors information about the park, participate in park living history and interpretive events, and conduct tours of the historical area.
