Mission Statement

Akron Fossils & Science Center is a 501-c(3) nonprofit which exists to provide visitors of all ages with balanced, affordable, and hands-on educational opportunities to explore the science of the world past, present, and future. We are more than a science center; we are a community of people dedicated to making learning fun and meaningful. We believe the best way to learn science is to experience it and this philosophy guides everything we do. At Akron Fossils & Science Center, participants and visitors become more than observers; they become researchers, experimenters, and even educators. Our exhibits and programs let you experience science first-hand and encourage understanding and deep, critical thought.

Description

At Akron Fossils & Science Center, guests can explore the science of the world past, present, and future through four exciting tours. Touch real fossils, interact with our live animal collection, make your own fossil replica, or walk through the Creation Education Museum, a part of the Creation Education branch of programming and housed within Akron Fossils & Science Center.

In addition to tours, Akron Fossils & Science Center offers a wide variety of both Community Enrichment and Creation Education programming, all hands-on and designed to make science and learning fun and meaningful. Programs include K-12 science classes, summer camps, birthday parties, educational days, overnight lock-ins, and so much more!

Outside is a 2.5 acre park featuring 9-hole mini-golf, giant slide, 4 person helicopter swing, and 200ft zipline. Guests many even bring a lunch and enjoy it under the covered picnic pavilion!
