Mission Statement
To assist in the self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life for the children, families, seniors and persons with disabilities living in the South Scattered Sites public housing community.
Description
The South Scattered Sites (SSS) housing community brings together a number of innovative programs and services designed to improve the quality of life for our residents and enable to hem to attain self-sufficiency.
SSS offers a wide range of programs and services, delivered through an array of community partnerships. These include an after school program to assist children and youth with educational and literacy development by reinforcing the skills and concepts learned in the classroom; and work force development that promotes economic self-sufficiency through the delivery of workshops, trainings and services that lead to gainful employment and community involvement. Other services include coordinated supportive services for the elderly and persons with disabilities and case management to empower residents to address individual and family issues.
The SSS community comprises of 36 developments with approximately 430 low-income housing units.
