Mission Statement

The purpose of the Corporation is that it shall be organized and operated exclusively as a Not-For-Profit theater and film company in Manhattan New York. Based out of Harlem, the public objective of the Corporation is to produce old and new works within the New York community and to create performance opportunities for emerging and mid-career artists. The Corporation is authorized to engage in any and all lawful activities in furtherance of the foregoing purposes, except as restricted herein or prohibited by law.

Description

The Poet Acts, Inc. is a not-for-profit film & theater company. We work to close the opportunity gap for emerging artists by with collaborating with them to do the thing they say they want to do, giving them a place to develop and present their work.

At the heart of our beliefs is the ethos "fail up," recognizing that we can only be true innovators if we're willing to take risks and that the only way to learn is by doing, and then doing it again. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
