Mission Statement
ISRR is a free voluntary registry for all persons separated from family by adoption, divorce or other means. ISRR offers hope of reunion with next-of-kin, a safe haven for related information and a place to record genetic relationship.
Description
ISRR has reunited families since 1975. There are well over 200,000 active registrations on file at any time, and the volunteers/staff do matches ever week. Registration remains free because of donations made by the individuals served. The generosity of registrants has allowed this registry to remain open for more than 30 years.
The dream of founder Emma May Vilardi was to create a central registry bridging the varying policies and procedures of countries, states, agencies and organizations. She wanted a place of hope where all persons could register while seeking reunion with family, without being restricted or detoured by those barriers. Her vision remains in place today. Many thousands of new registrations are received each year and hundreds of matches are made.
