Mission Statement

As signified by our motto, Service Above Self, Rotary’s main objective is service -- in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today’s most critical issues, such as polio eradication, children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy and violence. We also support programs of youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development.

Description

Rotary International joins leaders from all continents, cultures and occupations to exchange ideas and take action for communities around the world to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 31,000 Rotary clubs in 166 countries.

Anyone can help advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty by contributing to The Rotary Foundation.
