Mission Statement

The Center for Social-Emotional Learning employs a highly interactive approach with students to build a caring, respectful classroom community through teaching communication, cooperation and conflict management skills and supporting the appreciation of diversity and increased esteem of self and others. These SEL core competencies are developed: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making.

Description

CSEL works to enable youth to develop the skills needed to be happy and successful in school and other spheres of their lives. A board of directors oversees the work our director, training coordinator and trainers are doing with schools and other community groups. We seek to improve the skills and awareness of all school and community stakeholders so there is a common language to use for problem solving and expression of feelings. Our program emphasizes creativity and acceptance of differences.
