Purpose The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is a multi-disciplinary response for child abuse investigations, within CentraCare. Volunteers will interact and play with children in the waiting area while their siblings are seen. Responsibilities - Engage children and adolescents in activities such as playing games or reading stories. - Interact with patients and siblings as they wait for appointments. - Greet patients and family members. - Assist in maintaining organization of waiting area. - Escort patients to designated areas, such as Lab and Imaging. - Assist with administrative and clerical tasks. - Assist staff as needed. Purpose: Volunteers help the staff in the Endoscopy Department in various ways: transporting patients, answering phone calls, stocking supplies, etc. Responsibilities: - Greet patients, show them where to go. - Assist in transporting patients in wheelchairs when necessary. - Take post-op charts back to nurses station and hang in rack. - Keep visitors lounge looking neat, straighten up magazines, etc. - Take specimens down to lab when asked. - Assemble paper work for charts. - Empty shredding bin when full. - Answer phones and transfer calls as needed. - Get charts ready for the next day. - Assist with cleaning and prepping rooms for the next patient. - Fold patient gowns placing them on the bed.

The PURPOSE of the Healing Center Concierge Volunteer is to provide a welcoming smile, information and caring support to guests visiting Coborn Healing Center, a 100% philanthropy-funded connection place for survivorship services that truly enhance our patients' lives throughout their cancer journey. RESPONSIBILITIES include: Act as the point of reference for guests who need assistance or information. Our guests look upon the concierge as a font of information. Become familiar with and share information about the classes, support groups, activities, events and services available at Coborn Healing Center. Direct guests to amenities, including Expressive Arts, Mind/Body (fitness facilities), cozy lounge area, nourishment center (kitchen), restrooms, musical instruments and resource tablets. Checkout, receive, store and use designated apparatus to sanitize resource tablets. Serve (Offer) refreshments and engage guests in friendly conversation. Prepare and display beverage and snack options such as coffee, water and freshly baked cookies for guests. Confirm appointment times and announce scheduled guest arrivals to staff providing services: Integrative Therapy - acupuncture, acupressure, and massage Enhancement Program -one-on-one consultation with a licensed cosmetologist for individualized fitting of a wig, hat and accessories at no charge Guide guests between Coborn Cancer Center and Coborn Healing Center as needed. Arrange for guests to receive donated in-kind items such as hats, scarves, seatbelt covers and lap blankets as appropriate. If time allows and needed, assist with delivering mail, organizing and sharing in-kind donations, maintaining the provider lounge. If needed, float and help in the Infusion Center or Pharmacy. Volunteers provide support to staff and patients by acting as a friendly, caring escort for patients, running errands, and restocking supplies for staff as needed. Volunteers escort patients to Radiology, deliver specimens to the Lab and assist staff as needed. Volunteer shifts are available Mon-Fri 3-7 p.m.; Sat & Sun 9 a.m.-1 p.m., 1-5 p.m.
