Description
Change 1 Child, is an organization that takes action against failing schools, hunger, homelessness and poverty affecting children around the world. Our focus is on one country per year, one child at a time; enriching children lives. Change 1 Child focuses on making positive impacts on children's lives around the world. The organization will undertake a series of projects devoted to different aspects of child development, including reading and strong academic progress. We will focus on early childhood development on an international scale. We believe that the foundational years are essential in a child's development. If we start to nurture a child's academic development at an early stage, that child will be equip with the correct tools to be successful.
The first project that we will undertake in 2009 will bring readers and reading materials into a few "failing schools" in New York City. In doing this, our goals are to encourage children to develop a love for reading and to show children that reading can be fun.
