Mission Statement

Spirit Therapies is a therapeutic riding center that positively impacts the lives of the physically and mentally challenged through connecting with trained therapy horses, certified instructors, and compassionate volunteers. We will educate and bring awareness of this valuable therapy to the public, and one day, be able to offer our services free of charge.

Spirit Therapies is a Premier Accredited Therapeutic Horseback Riding Center for individuals with special needs. We are a non-profit organization. The accreditation is through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) formerly known as NARHA. We are proud to say the we also provide therapeutic horseback riding for our military heroes and veterans. This program is called Horses Healing Heroes. Our instuctors are certified through PATH and EAGALA. Volunteers must be 14 years of age; younger age considered on individual basis. Appointments must be made with Cindy Schott, Volunteer Coordinator, 702-401-3055 to volunteer opportunities.

Would you recommend Spirit Therapies?

I joined the volunteer team at Spirit in 2011, shortly after moving to Las Vegas. I wanted to work with horses and stayed for the kids. I have never been with a more compassionate, caring group of people before. The love and dedication shown to the riders, both Military and special needs children, is apparent from the start. The horses are very well cared for and the property is well maintained. I highly recommend volunteering with this organization. All training is provided, so no experience is necessary.

As a child growing up with add, adhd, and dyslexia I was called "special needs". I love working with children and horses. If there is anyway I can help please let me know.

I have been volunteering for Spirit Therapies since September 2009. It is a wonderful organization! There are many things that people can do there from cleaning stalls, feeding/grooming the horses, to sidewalking and leading the horses during lessons. The love and compassion that is shown to the individuals who come and ride is top notch! I started because I love to give/do for others, but in the end I get just as much from it as they do! Everyone gets blessed, how much better can it get?
