Mission Statement

People Link's mission is dedicated to creating a global neighborhood by forging the links that sow the seeds for world peace and understanding. We believe that by getting to know our global neighbors on a one-to-one basis, understanding and acceptance of our differences increases and we grow in awareness of our similarities.

PeopleLink offers both short term and academic year student exchange 'homestay' programs. These programs provide opportunities for individuals and families to learn about other cultures right in their own home, learn foreign languages, and experience through lifetime friendships created, other customs different from their own.

We are one world!

Description

PeopleLink places foreign exchange students with volunteer host families across the United States and Canada, living in communities where they can experience 1st hand, the North American life. An educational homestay program is designed to allow the student & host family to learn & share each other's language & culture. Groups of students can range from 5 to 50 students, whose homestay can be from 2 days to 8 weeks, with student ages ranging from 10 to college aged. Scheduled intineraries include daily ESL/conversational english classes, fun afternoon activities, cultural exchanges, sports activities, full day field trips touring local areas, volunteer projects, welcome party & a farewell party. Students spend the evenings & weekends with their host families joining in their daily activities, while practicing speaking English.
