Mission Statement

At McLean Sixth Grade Center our first priority is to our children! We are committed to providing a smooth transition between elementary and secondary education. Our goal is to provide a well-balanced curriculum for all students. In addition, we strive to enrich the academic, social and emotional capabilities of our students in order to develop a sense of community.

Description

Our Reading and Mentoring Program links students who are reading at a minimum of two grade levels below their current grade placement, with community volunteers who provide consistent support and guidance on a one-to-one basis to encourage the students' social-emotional growth, as well as improve their reading abilities and strive for continual reading success.
