Mission Statement

Our mission is to improve the lives of the blind by creating opportunities for life-changing independence, andby conducting community outreach and education programs. We offer safe mobility, loving companionship and the "miracle of independence" to the blind through the use of a guide dog.

Description

Guide Dogs of the Desert breeds, raises and trains dogs to become guide dogs. We then train our blind client to learn how to work with their dog and become a safe team. We also provide follow-up assistance throughout the years that a blind person and their guide dog are together.

All of our services are provided free of charge to our blind clients.

I have been raising puppies for Guide Dogs of the Desert for almost 4 years and it is a great family centered organization. We do all sorts of fun events with the puppies and there is a lot of support. Getting to see the puppy you raised change someones life is the most amazing things in the world! If you are looking for a meaningful thing for you and your family to do this is a great organization to get involved in.
