Description

For over ten years SafeHaven Shelter has offered families a safe environment where they can stay together. SafeHaven Shelter is a cornerstone of the Portland community and is the only local shelter that allows families in need to stay together in private quarters instead of separating them by gender. This unique shelter provides 24 hour a day assistance that includes food, clothing, and a warm bed. SafeHaven is much more than a shelter; it is an active arena where communities come together to lift up families, to change lives, and create a continuous cycle of giving and receiving.

When I was in Portland a few years ago my husband and I along with our 3 kids became homeless. We went to this shelter and everyone was so nice and wonderful. I look back on one of the worst times in my families life and have some fond memories because of the volunteers and staff.
