We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers for our After School Action Program (ASAP). ASAP is a free, volunteer-run program that provides children of all backgrounds a safe, structured, and attentive environment during after-school hours. ASAP volunteers help our students with homework, lead constructive and educational class activities, prepare and serve wholesome after-school meals, and provide firm but compassionate classroom leadership. Do you have a passion or an exciting skillset you'd like to share with us? We welcome and encourage curriculum contributions from volunteers. Volunteers can develop and lead age-appropriate activities teaching skills and concepts in science, technology, visual and performing arts, computing, world cultures, and more! ASAP is housed at our location (1001 Dakin St.) in the Potter-Walsh Neighborhood on the Eastside of Lansing and runs from 4:00PM to 6:00PM, Monday through Thursday during the school year.

We are seeking Praise & Worship musicians for Faith Fellowship Baptist Church. Music serves as a tool for leading people to Christ and for helping them experience Him in His splendor. The Community Garden Leader will organize and facilitate gardeners and resources, paying attention to the details of the garden while staying acquainted with opportunities in the surrounding community. Job Description/Duties * Maintain active communication with gardeners through all necessary means * Identify needs and concerns, work to facilitate resolution, and convey necessary info * Recruit and train gardeners/volunteers to fulfill specific roles * Ensure gardeners have access to necessary physical resources (water, fertile soil, etc.) * Help to organize workdays and other events/gatherings * Participate actively in outreach and public relations activities for the garden * Engage in gardening and/or volunteering at the garden site * Meet and seek input from neighbors, businesses and others to improve the garden’s asset map Qualifications * Enjoys gardening and leadership * Pays attention to communication * Respect for other people’s opinions * Cultivates relationships with others * Desire to empower others This will be a brand new garden for the Eastside Community Action Center. We hope to engage the community by leasing free garden plots to local residents, involving the youth in our programs through work days, lessons on the growth cycle, harvesting, and nutrition, and utilizing some of the produce for meals in our after school program.

Office assistants perform general office duties including but not limited to answering phones, taking messages and setting appointments. Our agency is a nonprofit organization serving at-risk or vulnerable children, individuals and families. Therefore quite a bit of empathy is necessary when dealing with our clients. Office Assistant for at least 2 hours a day ( Monday-Friday) is a huge help. You can volunteer for the full week or just a day. We are most appreciative.

We need assistance in the operation of our community food pantry. We provide food to local residents in need. Your job would be to make and confirm appointments, put together food boxes, greet and serve clients, and keep the pantry stocked etc. It's a great way to serve! Shifts are either Mondays through Thursdays from 2pm-5pm.
