Description

The founders of Children's Choice, the Reverend Doctors William and Carolyn Eberwein, President and Chief Executive Officer respectively, bring over 50 years of social work experience leading a staff of social workers, support staff, foster families, kinship families and adoptive families to provide loving homes for children.

Currently, Children's Choice staff serves over 1,000 children and their families from 26 community-based offices located throughout Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC.

Children's Choice provides the following foster / kinship care services: Foster Care, Kinship Care, Home Studies, Training, Birth Family Teamwork, Visitation, Social Work Support, Permanency Planning, Mother / Baby Care and Treatment Foster Care. Adoption Services include Home Studies for International and Domestic Adoptions, Domestic Adoptions, Post-Placement Supervision and Post-Adoption Services.

We serve children and youth in care. Children in care have unique needs, strengths and interests. They are referred to Children's Choice from county agencies, hospitatls and institutions. The reasons children are placed in care are varied: poverty, neglect, behavioral issues, medical fragility, sexual and physical abuse.

Children are placed in foster care or kinship care until they are reunified with their families, become eligible for permanent legal custody, adoption or are able to live independently.

Children and youth in care have troubled and frequently disrupted lives as well as insecurity about their futures. They also share the strengths of adaptability and resourcefulness. Children's Choice is committed to keeping siblings together and to strengthening families.
