Mission Statement

To preserve the Colonel Davenport House and site to interpret the social history and material culture of the early 19th century contained therein for the benefit of the public.

Description

We maintain the home of George Davenport, which was built in 1833. Mr. Davenport is the first permanent white settler in the Quad City area. The house is open for tours May through October as well as providing educational programs through out the year. We have a traveling trunk that is available to teachers as well as a speakers bureau. We also have a gift shot that sell period appropriate items as well a reading materials about the era of the home as well at the history of Mr. Davenpot and the local area.
