Mission Statement

'To end needless suffering of puppies and kittens being born to be homeless, Save Our Strays, Inc.'s mission is to be a HELP Service in each community where SOS can give assistance, th is service is by way of free spay/neuters to each family that is low income to no income, to offer support to these families in educating on "healthy pet care" and to aid communities in removing strays from the streets to make the community safe for the elderly and the young, thus, an "enhanced quality of life" will exist for both human and 4 legged friends.'

The intent of my review is to be constructive to the effect that Save Our Strays, Inc. will eventually practice the concept of transparency and accountability with the public. One of the things that I noticed immediately as a volunteer was that they refused to provide a copy of their Constitution & By-Laws and to give a Financial Report. Today, I received an email from one of their Board Members stating that their organization is not required to even have a set of Constitution & By Laws. In my opinion, this is an incredible statement for a Board Member of a 501(c)(3) to make! My experience with this particular organization has taught me that before I donate my money or time, I will observe how open, honest and transparent the organization is in their dealings with the public. Something to their credit, the phrase "to make the community safe for the elderly and young" was my idea that they implemented in their mission statement.
