Thank you for considering our call for caring companionship! We are currently making visits to our patients in your area, and we would welcome your participation in our volunteer program. The simple act of presence and companionship can bring joy and comfort to a hospice patient and their loved ones, and sharing time with another is mutually rewarding and always appreciated. Regular visits from a caring volunteer offer respite and relief for caregivers, and our patients enjoy passing the time with a new visitor like you! Volunteer orientation will be provided, and a supportive staff will welcome you to our team. Please consider making a difference in someone’s world and having an impact in our community as a Residential Hospice volunteer. We are sorry we cannot accept any court ordered community service, and you must be 18 to volunteer. Upon receiving your completed application, an interview, background check, drug and fingerprint screening and TB test will be required before we can set up visits. Your safety and satisfaction are our greatest concern, and we adhere to all protocols that are necessary for protection and peace of mind.

Thanks to our wonderful volunteers, Residential Hospice provides each family with a Memorial Quilt Square in honor of their deceased loved one. We also provide Military Service squares for our Veterans. We are looking for individuals willing to come into our Troy office during weekday work hours (flexible times) and help with this project. Our quilt squares are prepared using a piecing technique by some of our dedicated quilters and we need help with personalizing each square with each loved one’s name using an on-site embroidery sewing machine. This only requires a few hours of your time and makes a meaningful impact on the families of our patients. Volunteer orientation will be provided and sewing may be done at home if you have your own machine with embroidery ability. Quilt square supplies are provided by us, we just need your time and talent! Disclaimer: We are sorry, but we cannot accept any court ordered community service.
