Mission Statement

The Area Agency on Aging and Disability (AAAD) is one of nine agencies in Tennessee with the responsibility of planning, coordinating and advocating for services to improve the quality of life od older persons and other adults with disabilities.

Description

SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) provides Medicare beneficiaries (including those under 65 years of age) with free, impartial information and assistance with Medicare questions and prescription drug coverage. SMP (Empowering Seniors To Prevent Medicare Fraud) is a program whose purpose is to reduce Medicare waste and abuse by increasing public awareness through educational programs and by assisting the beneficiary in reading and understanding Medicare documents and how to report suspicious claims.
