Citizen Schools partners with middle schools to expand the learning day
for low-income children across the country.

We believe that all students have the potential to discover a love of learning in middle school that will inspire them to succeed in high school, college, the workforce, and civic life.

But without enough time in the school day, enough relevant learning activities, and enough involved adults, too many kids are dropping out.

That's why w e mobilize a second shift of afternoon educators, who provide academic support, leadership development, and "apprenticeships" --hands-on projects taught by volunteers from business and civic organizations.

Bringing schools and communities together, we are helping to restore the promise of education in America.
