The mission of DC Youth Fashion Alliance is to implement creative programming for youth, which provide career options in the fashion and entertainment industries. Through the implementation of our high-caliber, hands-on program, dubbed the "Red Sprinkle Fashion Bootcamp," youth from the most impoverished neighborhoods of the Metropolitan area not only gain work-readiness skills, but also the professional acumen necessary for future success, free of charge. Additionally, youth participants gain a vital professional network, as they are allowed to work with the nation's leading creative professionals, gaining experience in the areas of fashion design and styling, makeup and hair artistry, jewelry design, photography, modeling, and more. . Through experiential learning experiences that focus on hands-on training, youth increase their knowledge of career options in creative industries.
Red Sprinkle Fashion Bootcamp allows students to gain a basic scope of careers, within the fields of fashion and entertainment. Understanding the importance of cultivating young minds, Red Sprinkle Fashion Bootcamp was designed to help structure the foundation necessary for participants to pursue careers within the fashion and entertainment industries. This goal is chieved through the facilitation of interaction with leading industry figures, and the development of a vital professional network, which will assist in future participant successes. Concurrently, the program encourages development in the areas of: fashion entrepreneurship, fashion design and construction, fashion marketing, modeling/presentation, and grooming; but also work-readiness, resume-building, etiquette, interviewing, and speech training.
