Mission Statement

To provide scholarships to young Latino students, particularly those who have traditionally been excluded from higher education, to realize their intellectual and personal goals. To help young Latino students escape the bonds of poverty and hopelessness by providing education that will empower them to establish values allowing them to grow and flourish, while instilling the value of education and civic responsibility.

The Julio Lozada Foundation Inc. was incorporated as a long lasting entity devoted to making the public aware of the significant contribution that Julio Lozada’ s tragic death made to address the racial disparities in Public Safety in the City of Hartford, Connecticut. This will be accomplished by working collaboratively with our funding partners and the support of the community.
