Tzu Chi Foundation, guided by the four Buddhist principles of kindness, compassion, joy and giving, is a volunteer-led charitiable organization that strives to ease suffering on Earth by inspiring a worldwide network of volunteers to provide spiritual support and humanitarian services to all regardless of race, nationality or religion.

Description

Tzu Chi is an international, non-profit charitable organization with four major service areas: charitable services, medical services, education, and humanitarian services. Tzu Chi means serving with compassion. With more than 60 offices in the United States, volunteers lead others to provide: family services; disaster services; medical and dental services; new books and scholarships to students; meals for the homeless; regular visits to senior homes; humanitarian aid; and new homes and schools in countries such as Mexico, El Salvador and the Dominican Republic.

While Dad was sick with cancer of the lungs, all the Brothers & Sisters of the Tzu Chi Foundation across the US helped our family. I recently had a wonderful tour of the one in San Dimas, CA. Unfortunatley Father lost his battle with cancer last week. I was pleasently surprised when alot of the volunteers showed and helped do the Buddhist ceremony to. They are a most wonderful and generous orginization. Thank you!!
