Mission Statement

Our mission is to explore the Latino - Hispanic cultural experience through music theater and opera, while providing opportunities for the community to participate as creators, learners, and performers. We accomplishthis by presenting the work of composer Hector Armienta, showcasing other artists, and training young people in the performing arts. By doing so, we create a cultural bridge between communities.

Description

Our programming has included presenting opera/music theater, showcasing exceptional performing artists, and providing performing arts training programs for young people. We have presented in San Jose, New York and in Mexico. Notable performances include, Death and Transcendence, La Llorona, and Cuentos de Peregrinacíon. Our 2014 - 2015 season includes a presentation in Guadalajara Mexico, the musical drama La Llorona, and a reading of excerpts from Armienta’s new opera Bless Me Ultima, For 2015 and beyond, we will be producing a Latino Composers concert, participation in a music festival in Tequila Mexico, an international Zarzuela Festival, and the world premiere of Bless Me Ultima.
