Description

The GVU Center is a multidisciplinary research facility affiliated with the College of Computing at Georgia Tech. Founded as the Graphics, Visualization and Usability Center, the Center addresses the host of issues pertaining to the interaction between humans and computers. These issues include finding ways to make that interaction more intuitive and user-friendly as well as researching computer-based solutions to everyday challenges -- in effect, developing computers that extend people's capacity to manage their daily lives.

In keeping with its extensive purview, GVU projects are conducted by more than 60 Georgia Tech faculty drawn from each of Tech's six colleges: Computing, Engineering, Management, Sciences, Architecture and the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts.

A diverse multitude of research and development projects may be underway at any given time distributed among the Center's laboratories and test facilities.

The GVU Center and its administrative staff of five is headquartered in the Technology Square Research Building, located on Fifth Street at the edge of the Georgia Tech campus in Midtown Atlanta.
