Mission Statement
The mission of Get In The Ring Foundation is to help those families by providing early prevention knowledge to decrease childhood cancer occurrences, better health and nutrition for children, and to end bullying within the schools turning our children today into leaders of tomorrow. Our efforts are set forth as such: Caring For The Families of The Children - We seek to ensure families who come to us are not alone when a child has been diagnosed with cancer, which is why we continue to build relationships as a pledge of hope and relief during such a difficult time in their lives. Knockout Childhood Cancer - Providing early prevention information through educational forums, are the best methods to decrease childhood cancer occurrences. Knockout Childhood Obesity - The problem of obesity amongst our children must be controlled with great care and healthy food options daily. Knockout Bullying - The future depends on young leaders of today, taking a stand to solve challenges
Description
Get In The Ring Foundation was founded by Daniel Jacobs in 2013. While Daniel was recovering from osteosarcoma cancer, he started to focus on his life beyond boxing while considering his debt to the cancer community. Daniel formed the Get In The Ring Foundation to help children with their cancer struggles and other life issues he personally dealt with as a child.
The vision of Get In The Ring Foundation is to acknowledge the needs of children around us in the areas of cancer, obesity, and bullying; to ensure we become the solution for their problem. As part of this vision, the Get In The Ring Foundation partnered with medical leaders and local businesses to help educate people in these specific areas and erase the stigma that's often attached to cancer, obesity, and bullying.
We fulfill our mission and vision by spending time with kids in schools, teaching them how not to bully their peers but to be a friend for reasons such as children facing obesity and cancer. Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital is also one of our major partnerships in which, we create superhero parties and other themes for the kids to know we are all fighting the cause with them and their families.
Our desire is for the world to see our efforts and join in as we make a difference in the lives of children.
